On Friday, after arriving aboard the vessel, there is an opportunity to look around the yacht and pick a bunk for the trip. Both yachts have pipe-cots which line the sides of the main area in a bunk-bed style arrangement.
After a safety brief we slip lines and motor out of the marina, before hoisting the sails and setting sail for France. There is are plenty of chances to be actively involved in crewing the yacht, taking turns to helm the yacht as it powers through the open water, sometimes working on the foredeck as she crashes through the waves and trimming sails to keep the speed up.
Any existing skills can be practiced and our professional crew are always happy to talk through the navigation. Throughout the trip our crew serve simple but tasty food, including an evening meal on the outbound leg if we will not arrive in France in time for dinner. On Sunday its an early start as we make our return journey, by which time everyone will be working as part of an slick and efficient sailing crew.
This is a relaxed, but exciting trip that keeps many customers coming back time and time again! |
